Merino Wool — Wulbi Collection
Merino
Wool
Merino wool is one of the finest natural fibres available. Its microscopic crimped structure traps warmth while remaining breathable — regulating body temperature in both cold and mild conditions. Unlike standard wool, merino is soft enough to wear directly against the skin without irritation. It wicks, breathes, and resists odour naturally.
Natural Thermoregulation
Merino fibres actively regulate body temperature — keeping you warm when cold and cool when warm. No synthetic fibre can replicate this biological intelligence.
Next-to-Skin Comfort
Fine merino fibres bend rather than scratch, making it comfortable to wear directly on skin — unlike coarser wools that cause irritation with direct contact.
Active Moisture Wicking
Merino naturally draws moisture away from the body and releases it as vapour, keeping you dry and comfortable through extended wear.
Elastic by Nature
The crimped structure of merino gives each fibre elasticity — it returns to shape after stretching, resists wrinkles, and holds its form through years of regular wear.
Recommended
- Hand wash in cool water with gentle wool detergent
- Machine wash on delicate or wool cycle — 30°C maximum
- Lay flat to dry, reshaping while still damp
- Store folded — never on a hanger, which stretches the shoulders
- Air between wears — merino naturally resists odour
Avoid
- Tumble drying — heat causes irreversible shrinkage
- Wringing or twisting wet fabric
- Hanging to dry — water weight will stretch the garment
- Harsh detergents or bleach
- Prolonged direct sunlight — fades natural colour
Merino benefits from rest between wears. Airing overnight allows fibres to recover their shape and eliminates light odours — meaning you can wear the same piece several times before washing. This single habit extends the life of a merino garment significantly.
Cashmere — Wulbi Collection
Cash
mere
Cashmere is among the rarest natural fibres in the world, collected from the fine undercoat of cashmere goats. It is extraordinarily soft, lightweight, and warm — significantly warmer than regular wool at a fraction of the weight. A cashmere piece, cared for properly, is not a seasonal purchase. It is something you keep for life.
Exceptionally Fine
Cashmere fibres measure just 14–19 microns in diameter. The resulting softness is incomparable — and improves with every careful wash as fibres settle and relax.
Warmth Without Weight
Cashmere provides exceptional insulation despite being remarkably light. Its hollow fibre structure traps heat with an efficiency that heavier materials cannot match.
Improves With Age
Unlike synthetic fibres that degrade over time, cashmere softens and becomes more supple with every careful wash. A well-maintained piece can last for decades.
Season-Spanning
Light enough for autumn, warm enough for deep winter. Cashmere's natural breathability allows it to transition across seasons better than almost any other fibre.
Recommended
- Hand wash only in cool water with cashmere-specific detergent
- Gently press — never wring — excess water before drying
- Lay flat on a clean towel to dry in its natural shape
- Store folded in a breathable cotton bag
- Use a cashmere comb to gently remove pilling
Avoid
- Machine washing — agitation damages the delicate fibres
- Any heat setting in a tumble dryer
- Hanging — cashmere stretches under its own weight when wet
- Moth exposure — store with cedar or lavender
- Overcleaning — wash only when genuinely necessary
Pilling on cashmere is a natural characteristic of the fibre — not a defect. A cashmere comb, used gently after washing, removes pills and restores the smooth surface. Do not pull pills off by hand; this damages the surrounding fibres and accelerates further pilling.
Mohair — Wulbi Collection
Mo
hair
Sourced from the Angora goat, mohair is prized for its extraordinary natural lustre — a silk-like sheen that no synthetic can replicate. It is warm, lightweight, and remarkably strong. Mohair beanies have a distinctive fluffy, halo-like texture that gives each piece a visual depth entirely its own.
Natural Silk-Like Sheen
Mohair has a natural brightness and sheen unlike any other animal fibre — giving Wulbi mohair pieces a distinctive depth of colour and luminosity that fabric cannot achieve.
Remarkably Durable
Mohair is one of the strongest natural fibres — significantly more durable than cashmere or standard wool. It resists pilling and maintains its appearance through years of wear.
The Halo Effect
The fine, fluffy halo of mohair gives each piece a unique visual character. The long fibres catch light differently from every angle — no two pieces look identical.
Lightweight Insulation
Despite being exceptionally light, mohair provides remarkable warmth. Fine fibres trap air with high efficiency — ideal for cold-weather headwear that does not feel heavy.
Recommended
- Hand wash gently in cool water with mild wool wash
- Support the full weight of the piece when lifting from water
- Lay flat on a towel and reshape to dry naturally
- Brush gently with a soft bristle brush to restore the halo
- Store loosely folded in a cool, dry place
Avoid
- Rubbing or agitating the fabric — tangles the long fibres
- Tumble drying or any direct heat source
- Hanging while wet — weight will distort the shape
- Harsh detergents or fabric softeners
- Storing compressed under heavy items
Mohair's halo texture can flatten slightly with wear. After washing and drying flat, a very gentle brush with a soft garment brush will restore it. Always brush in one consistent direction only, following the natural lie of the fibres.
Classic Wool — Wulbi Collection
Classic
Wool
Wool is one of the oldest and most trusted natural fibres — relied upon for centuries across every climate for good reason. Naturally warm, water-resistant, and structured, Wulbi wool beanies are knitted to hold their shape through seasons of daily wear, becoming a reliable constant in any wardrobe.
Reliable Insulation
Wool fibres naturally crimp and trap warm air close to the body — providing consistent warmth without bulk across cold conditions and varying weather.
Shape Retention
Wool fibres are naturally elastic and return to their original shape after stretching. Wool beanies hold their structure and silhouette wash after wash, season after season.
Naturally Repels Moisture
A natural waxy coating on wool fibres repels light moisture and dries quickly — making it a dependable choice for unpredictable weather and outdoor wear.
Built for Daily Wear
Wool can be bent over 20,000 times without breaking. Properly cared for, a quality wool beanie will outlast most other items in a wardrobe by years.
Recommended
- Hand wash or machine wash on a wool/delicate cycle at 30°C
- Use a wool-specific detergent
- Lay flat to dry — reshape while still damp
- Store folded in a drawer or on a shelf
- Air regularly to keep fibres fresh between wears
Avoid
- Hot water — causes irreversible shrinkage and felting
- Tumble drying on any heat setting
- Wringing or twisting when wet
- Leaving damp for extended periods — encourages mildew
- Storing in direct sunlight for long periods
If a wool beanie shrinks slightly, it can often be restored. Soak in lukewarm water with a small amount of hair conditioner for twenty minutes, then gently stretch back to shape while wet and lay flat to dry. The conditioner relaxes the fibres and allows them to be eased back into form.
Organic Cotton — Wulbi Collection
Organic
Cotton
Grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers, organic cotton produces a softer, purer fibre — gentler on the skin and significantly better for the environment. Wulbi uses organic cotton across its knitwear line for a fabric that breathes naturally, feels clean against the body, and becomes more comfortable with every wash.
No Harsh Chemicals
Grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers, organic cotton is a purer fibre — better for sensitive skin and free of the chemical residues found in conventional cotton.
All-Season Comfort
Cotton is one of the most breathable natural fibres. Its open structure allows air to circulate freely — keeping you cool in warmth and comfortable through every season.
Improves With Washing
Organic cotton softens naturally with every wash. Unlike synthetic blends that deteriorate over time, the fibre becomes more supple and pleasant with each wear and wash cycle.
Lower Environmental Impact
Organic cotton farming uses significantly less water and eliminates synthetic chemical runoff — a meaningful choice that does not require any compromise on quality or comfort.
Recommended
- Machine wash at 30°C or cold on a gentle cycle
- Turn inside out before washing to protect the outer surface
- Tumble dry on low, or lay flat to air dry
- Iron on medium heat if needed — cotton responds well
- Wash with similar colours to prevent uneven fading
Avoid
- Hot washes — causes shrinkage, especially in early wears
- Harsh bleach or aggressive stain removers
- Over-drying in a tumble dryer — weakens fibres over time
- Leaving wet garments bunched for extended periods
- Storing in damp conditions — susceptible to mildew
Organic cotton may shrink slightly in the first wash if washed warm. We recommend washing cold for the first two washes to allow the fibres to settle fully. After that, the garment is stable and can be washed at 30°C without concern. When in doubt, wash cold — it is always the safer option for both the garment and the environment.
Cowhide Leather — Wulbi Collection
Cow
hide
Full-grain cowhide is the strongest layer of the hide — untreated and unaltered, retaining the natural grain pattern unique to every animal. It is among the most durable and characterful materials available. Over time it develops a rich patina shaped entirely by how and where it has been worn. No two pieces age identically.
Built to Outlast
Full-grain cowhide is the toughest natural leather — resisting abrasion, moisture, and daily wear in a way no synthetic material can replicate. It improves rather than degrades with age.
Develops a Unique Patina
With wear, cowhide develops a deep, personal surface quality — shaped entirely by how and where it has been worn. No factory finish can produce what time and use create naturally.
Decades, Not Seasons
A well-maintained cowhide piece is not a seasonal purchase — it is an investment. Properly cared for, it will last for decades and only grow more beautiful with the passage of time.
Every Piece Is Unique
Full-grain leather retains the natural surface of the hide — including its individual markings, texture variations, and character. No two Wulbi leather pieces are identical.
Recommended
- Condition regularly with a quality leather conditioner or balm
- Wipe clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth after wear
- Allow to dry naturally at room temperature if wet
- Store on a shaped hanger (jacket) or in a dust bag (cap, sneakers)
- Apply leather protector spray before first wear
Avoid
- Submerging in water or any form of machine washing
- Drying near direct heat — radiators, hairdryers, sunlight
- Harsh chemical cleaners or solvents of any kind
- Storing folded or compressed — causes permanent creasing
- Allowing surface to dry out — always condition before storing
If your cowhide piece gets wet in rain, do not apply heat. Blot excess moisture with a clean cloth, allow to dry completely at room temperature, then apply a generous coat of leather conditioner to restore suppleness. It is the cycle of wetting and drying without conditioning that causes leather to crack and stiffen — not the water itself.
Suede — Wulbi Collection
Suede
Suede is the inner split layer of leather, buffed to a soft velvety nap that gives it an entirely different character from full-grain leather. It is lightweight and refined in appearance — with a matte, tactile surface that catches light beautifully and moulds to the head over time. Suede headwear has a quality that structured fabric caps simply cannot replicate.
Velvety Nap Surface
Suede's soft, raised nap is its defining quality. The fine texture has a tactile richness that is immediately recognisable — and impossible to replicate in any woven fabric.
Refined Matte Finish
Unlike glossy full-grain leather, suede has a subtle matte appearance that works with elegance across casual and smart-casual contexts without demanding attention.
Lightweight & Supple
Suede is lighter and more flexible than full-grain leather. In hat construction, this allows for a relaxed, comfortable fit that adapts to the shape of the head over time.
Ages Distinctively
Suede develops a natural wear pattern with use — softening in areas of contact and deepening in colour gradually. Each piece is shaped by the person who wears it.
Recommended
- Apply a suede protector spray before first wear
- Brush regularly with a suede brush to maintain the nap
- Use a suede eraser for dry marks and light surface scuffs
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct light
- Allow to air thoroughly after each wear
Avoid
- Water — suede stains easily and dries unevenly
- Rubbing wet suede — permanently damages the nap
- Heat sources of any kind for drying
- Standard leather cleaners — use suede-specific products only
- Storing in plastic bags — suede must breathe
Water is suede's primary vulnerability. If caught in rain, blot — never rub — with a clean cloth and allow to dry at room temperature. Once dry, restore the nap with a suede brush, moving in one consistent direction. A quality suede protector spray applied before wearing in uncertain weather is always the wisest precaution.
Linen — Wulbi Collection
Linen
One of the world's oldest and most sustainable fibres, linen is derived from the flax plant and has been valued for thousands of years. It is exceptionally breathable, moisture-absorbent, and naturally cool against the skin — the ideal material for warm-weather headwear. Linen only improves in character with age and wear.
Exceptionally Airy
Linen fibres are hollow, allowing maximum air circulation. Linen headwear keeps you significantly cooler in warm weather than cotton or any synthetic alternative.
Natural Moisture Control
Linen can absorb up to 20% of its weight in moisture before feeling damp — drawing perspiration away from skin and releasing it quickly to keep you comfortable throughout the day.
Stronger When Wet
Linen is one of the few fibres that becomes stronger when wet than when dry. It resists pilling and abrasion, and its integrity increases over time with proper care.
A Responsible Crop
Flax requires minimal water and no pesticides to grow — making linen one of the most environmentally responsible textile crops available, without any compromise on quality.
Recommended
- Hand wash or machine wash on a gentle cycle at 30°C
- Reshape while still slightly damp if needed
- Iron on a medium-high setting while damp for the best result
- Store loosely folded or hanging — linen breathes well either way
- Wash before first wear — softens the fibres from the outset
Avoid
- Hot washing — causes shrinkage and weakens fibres over time
- Tumble drying on high heat settings
- Bleach — breaks down natural linen fibres gradually
- Storing damp — linen is susceptible to mildew in humid conditions
- Leaving heavily creased for prolonged periods
Linen creases easily — this is a natural characteristic of the fibre, not a flaw. Many embrace the relaxed, lived-in quality of slightly creased linen as part of its character. If you prefer a crisper look, iron while the fabric is still slightly damp — linen responds exceptionally well to heat and steam, and will press smooth with very little effort.
Sunglasses — Wulbi Collection
Sun
glasses
Wulbi sunglasses are built around a silicone-injected frame — a material more commonly found in performance eyewear, chosen here for its extraordinary lightness, flexibility, and skin-safe comfort. The wraparound silhouette sits close to the face for complete coverage, while the sport-influenced lens geometry gives each style a bold, forward-facing character that stands apart from conventional eyewear.
Silicone-Injected Frame
The frame is constructed with a silicone core — hypoallergenic, flexible, and ultra-lightweight. It sits against the skin without pressure points, making it comfortable for extended wear in any condition.
Bend Without Breaking
Unlike rigid acetate or metal frames, the silicone structure flexes naturally with movement — resistant to cracking under impact and adapting subtly to different face shapes over time.
Full UV Protection
Wulbi lenses provide full UV400 protection — blocking 100% of UVA and UVB radiation. The wraparound geometry provides peripheral coverage that flat lenses cannot offer.
Sport Silhouette
The forward-angled, wraparound frame profile is drawn from performance eyewear — reinterpreted here as a fashion object. Bold, clean, and designed to be noticed.
Recommended
- Clean lenses with the provided microfibre cloth only
- Rinse frame with fresh water after contact with salt water or sweat
- Store in the case provided when not in use
- Wipe the silicone frame with a damp cloth to remove oils and residue
- Handle from the frame — not the lenses — to avoid fingerprints
Avoid
- Paper towels or clothing to clean lenses — causes micro-scratches
- Chemical cleaners, solvents, or alcohol-based products on lenses
- Leaving in direct sunlight for extended periods — warps the frame
- Placing face-down on hard surfaces — scratches the lens coating
- Submerging in hot water — degrades the lens coating over time
Silicone frames can attract dust and oils more readily than acetate. A quick wipe with a slightly damp cloth after each wear keeps the frame looking its best. For lenses, the microfibre cloth that comes with your sunglasses is the only tool you should use — it is specifically designed not to scratch the coating.
